While You Were Out--Day 5

Monday, April 12

Well, the countertops made the truck, but unfortunately they cannot be installed until tomorrow (Tues) morning.  So it won't be a full reveal tonight.

Today, Debbie & Michael are stalling the trip home from Florida as much as they can. The last we heard, ETA is 7:30pm.

Plumbers arrived this morning and installed the new dishwasher...

I't s 3:45pm right now. The electricians have been here installing the new disposal, and installing the new light fixture.

After starting to install the new microwave vent-a-hood, it was found that the microwave hangs too low over your stove :( So T & V are off to Lowe's to get a new hood. We really wanted you to have a microwave over the stove, but it's not going to work out.

Ernesto and his crew are re-installing the cabinet doors right now. And they will paint the ceiling. He did an awesome job on the cabinets, and very reasonable. He doesn't have a website, but if you are in the Memphis-area, call Ernesto Rocha at 901-337-2354.

Here is a sneak peek of the cabs...

I've been drilling Ernesto about painting & glazing tips & techniques...He's not giving me much to work with :(  He won't tell his secrets.

The countertops will arrive tomorrow (Tuesday). So obviously the sink will be installed then, too. There is also the plan to tile a backsplash...but time is running out...we'll try and do that this weekend...

We found an artifact today, stuffed in-between the cabinets...Obviously, the old countertop was installed in 1979...Check out those Camaro prices!!!

Vickie is texting Debbie all the way home...Updates at 2 hours, 1 hour, 30 minutes, and 5 minutes away!

We heard that Mom & Dad thought we were surprising them with dinner!  hmmmm...not quite:)

During the last hour, it was craziness as finishing touches were made...leveling the fridge, attaching the new telephone stand, cleaning, sweeping, vacuuming, and hiding the mess we had made!

And the kids are exhausted!  Five straight days....

I wish I could have done more to help...but I was chasing the babies most of the time...and I am glad to share this in the blog world, so that Mom can read about this for months to come, and share this with other friends and family!

Stay tuned for the Reveal Part 1...
